DNV GL’s annual report for 2015 is available now

The annual report integrates a comprehensive review of our business and of our financial and sustainability performance. For the first time, this year's report has been designed to be read primarily as a digital publication.

The annual report includes chapters on Who we are, What we do, How we work and How we perform and also covers main highlights of 2015. New this year is that the report has been designed for online reading and it also includes links to a few videos.

Our sustainability reporting is according to the GRI G4 Comprehensive level and is independently assured. DNV GL is certified to the ISO 9001 and 14001 as well as OHSAS 18001 standards. We have been a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact since 2003 and we commit to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In our operations we had no fatalities and there were no confirmed incidents of corruption or non-compliance with environmental laws and regulations. We had a Lost Time Absence Frequency of 1.5 % and a Sickness Absence Rate of 2.2%. Our employees represent 117 nationalities, 31% are female, 87 % have higher education and 83% have completed Code of Conduct training. Direct emissions of greenhouse gases were 28 thousand tonnes of CO2e, representing the baseline for our strategy of taking measures to become carbon neutral by the end of 2020.

We continued to deliver safer, smarter and greener solutions to customers and in partnership. 2015 highlights include the launch of our new rule set for classification of ships, the product launch of our fleet performance management solution ECO Insight, which enables fuel consumption reductions and has more than 600 ships signed up; our new joint industry wind power project for offshore oil and gas applications that involves seven leading global customers; our techno-financial assessments of wind energy in Zambia, Tanzania, the Maldives, Egypt, Jordan and Oman for financial institutions and governmental organizations; our strong market position of Risk Based Certification™ under the new ISO 9000 and 14000 standards; the introduction of our step-change barrier management solution using Synergi™ Life QHSE software; and the publication of our report on the UN Global Compact’s achievements in its first 15 years.
