Se necesitan medidas extraordinarias para lograr los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible

New York, 19 Septiembre: ¿Conseguirá el mundo lograr los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenibles (SDGs) de las Naciones Unidas para el año 2030? ¿Qué pueden hacer las empresas para liderar el movimiento? DNV GL tiene como objetivo responder estas dos preguntas fundamentales en su nueva previsión que va a analizar el futuro de nuestra 'Spaceship Earth'. En el informe se llega a la conclusión de que, a pesar de que muchos de los objetivos lograrían un importante progreso en varias regiones del mundo, las medidas no lograrían ser lo suficientemente rápidas ni lo suficientemente justas y esto tendría un coste medioambiental inaceptable. Pese a ello, aún hay tiempo de redirigir el curso de nuestra 'Spaceship Earth': el informe muestra a 17 empresas globales que están logrando un progreso extraordinario dentro de cada uno de los objetivos globales.

Future feeder – DNV GL presents HMD with Approval in Principle for Con-Green 2000 design

Today at the SMM trade fair in Hamburg, DNV GL presented Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) with an Approval in Principle (AiP) recognizing the technical feasibility of the new Con-Green 2000 vessel design under the new DNV GL rules. The Con-Green 2000 project brought together partners HMD, MAN Diesel & Turbo, Becker Marine Systems, and DNV GL to develop a highly efficient, reliable and economic feeder design.

DNV GL presents HHI with updated AiP for SkyBench design

At the SMM trade fair today classification society DNV GL presented Hyundai Heavy Industries CO., LTD. (HHI) with an Approval in Principle (AiP) certificate. The result of a development project conducted by HHI working closely together with DNV GL, the certificate confirms that the design complies with the new DNV GL rules for the classification of ships. HHI also revealed that they have successfully tested a working 1:2 scale mockup of the design at their yard in Ulsan.

PERFECt II – Second phase brings additional partners for piston free LNG container vessel

Project partners GTT, CMA CGM (and its subsidiary CMA Ships) and DNV GL signed a cooperation agreement with new project participants ABB, the Caterpillar company Solar Turbines, and OMT for phase two of the highly successful PERFECt project. The Piston Engine Room Free Efficient Containership project investigates the possibility of using a combined gas and steam turbine system (COGAS) to power an ultra large container vessel (ULCS). The first phase of the project performed by GTT, CMA Ships and DNV GL showed promising results with regard to the commercial competitiveness of the design compared to a LNG-fuelled ship with conventional propulsion system. The aim of the second phase of the project is to detail the technical concept and the commercial feasibility.

DNV GL launches Recommended Practice to enhance the cyber security of maritime assets

What are the best options for securing remote connections on ship and offshore systems? Which operational technology on board is most vulnerable to cyber-attacks? DNV GL has published a Recommended Practice (RP) on “Cyber Security Resilience Management” to help the industry address potential cyber hazards. Developed in cooperation with customers, the RP provides guidance on risk assessment, general improvements to cyber security, and the verification of security improvements and management systems.
