For ship designers, yards, manufacturers and suppliers we offer eApproval in DNV Exchange. eApproval provides a holistic approach to electronic drawing approval by combining the communication possibilities of the web, the ease and reuse of electronic drawings and the quality control of a modern document management system.
Features:
You can upload documentation to DNV for approval, have continuous access to the status of your submitted documents and download approved documentation – all at the same time and with the same tool anywhere in the world.
The DNV approval centre receives the uploaded drawings through the NPS production system. Approved drawings are redlined and stamped before being uploaded back to DNV Exchange together with an approval letter. The customer will be notified by an email when the drawings have been approved and made available on DNV Exchange.
The main benefits of eApproval are:
Faster exchange of information to assist with shorter design times.
Easy access and overview of documentation status.
Paper, mailing time and associated costs significantly reduced.
More efficient communication between DNV and our customers.
The eApproval tool facilitates communication between the different parties involved in the design process and contributes to improving the planning process.
How to get access:
There are three types of eApproval contracts:
Short form agreement. This agreement will enable a customer to submit drawings on any project. The short form agreement shall be used typically with a maker/manufacturer, and will be applicable for a limited period.
Addendum to Agreement of Classification of Newbuilding. This agreement will be signed by the yard and will enable the yard to submit drawings on one particular project. This means that a new contract must be signed for each new project.
Short form agreement for Newbuidings prior to Agreement of Class being established. This agreement will be signed by the designer before an Agreement of Class is established. This agreement will enable the designer to submit drawings on one particular project. This means that a new contract must be signed for each new project.
After signing an eApproval contract, the customer will be given a username and password to log onto DNV Exchange and access the eApproval tool.
The customer will then be able to create different sub-users and have the possibility to specify which projects sub-users will have access to. This enables several designers to have eApproval for different projects for the same yard without having the possibility to access each others drawings. An eApproval contract for each new project must be signed before access is granted.
